Evelyna Helmer

Born and raised in Chicago, Illinois, artist Evelyna Helmer now resides in Australia. Helmer's work conveys a sense of memory, nostalgia and hope while also exploring notions of gender. Additionally, her work is a response to a lifetime of collecting, absorbing, digesting information and reflecting back. While her practice commonly takes the forms of collage and painting, Helmer’s work oscillates between realism and surrealism.
